Step 1: Preliminary Preparations, Ensuring Safety and Pre-treatment of the Fish Food Extruder Machine

The core premise of cleaning the extruder head is safety and zero residue. Therefore, it is necessary to take preventative measures and pre-treat the equipment in advance to avoid safety hazards and incomplete cleaning. First, safety precautions: Operators must wear high-temperature resistant gloves, protective masks, non-slip shoes, and cut-resistant gloves. Loose clothing and jewelry are strictly prohibited to avoid burns from the high-temperature die head, scratches from cleaning tools, or clothing getting caught in the equipment. Second, tool preparation: Prepare suitable cleaning tools. Basic tools include a dedicated cleaning brush (soft bristle brush + hard bristle brush), a plastic scraper, a high-pressure water gun (low-pressure mode), a neutral detergent (suitable for fish feed residue, non-corrosive), clean cloths, and a storage box. No complex professional tools are needed. Ensure tools are intact and undamaged to avoid scratching the die head surface. Third, pre-treatment of the fish meal processing machine: First, turn off the main power to the fish feed extruder, unplug the power cord, hang a "Cleaning in Progress, Do Not Start" warning sign, and assign a dedicated person to monitor the process. Wait for the die head to cool completely. During operation, the die head temperature can reach 120-160℃; it needs to be cooled to below 50℃ (warm to the touch, not hot) before disassembling the die head. Before disassembly, clean any loose material residue from the die head surface to prevent it from falling into the equipment during disassembly.


Step Two: Proper Disassembly of the Die Head to Avoid Damage

The proper disassembly of the die head directly affects subsequent cleaning and installation. It must follow the principle of "unlock first, loosen then remove," and be operated precisely. First, unlock the fixing components: Floating fish food pellet manufacturing machine die heads are often secured with bolts and clips. First, use a measuring tool to unscrew the fixing bolts on the edge of the die head, and neatly place the bolts in the storage box (to avoid loss or contamination); then gently press the die head clips until you hear a "click" sound, indicating the clips are unlocked. Second, separate the die head from the equipment: Gently support the die head with your hand and gently pry the edge of the die head to slowly separate it from the extruder's discharge end. Do not use excessive force to avoid deformation or damage to the die head's aperture. Third, disassemble the die head components: If the die head is a modular design (including the die core, die plate, and sealing gasket), gently disassemble each component, marking them carefully (to avoid misalignment). When disassembling, take care to protect the smooth surfaces of the die core and die plate to avoid impacts.


Step 3: Clean by Part to Thoroughly Remove Residue and Stains

First, clean the mold head surface: Gently brush away surface dust and loose material residue with a soft-bristled brush. Then, use a cloth dampened with neutral detergent to wipe away grease and stubborn stains from the mold head surface. Wipe repeatedly until the surface is clean. Avoid using a hard-bristled brush directly to prevent scratching the mold head surface. Second, clean the mold head apertures: Gently insert a special hard-bristled brush (suitable for the aperture size) into the mold head aperture and wipe back and forth to remove material residue and scale. If the aperture is severely clogged, dilute the neutral detergent and pour it into the aperture to soak for 5-10 minutes until the residue softens. Then, clean with a brush. Do not use metal wire, nails, or other hard objects to unclog, as this may enlarge the aperture. Third, clean the mold head components: Clean the mold core, mold plate, and sealing gasket one by one with a soft-bristled brush and neutral detergent. Wipe the sealing gasket gently to avoid pulling it and causing damage. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove detergent residue. Step 4: Post-cleaning inspection and reinstallation to ensure the normal operation of the floating fish food manufacturing extruder machine.


After cleaning, it is necessary to inspect and reinstall the machine to avoid misalignment or damage to components, ensuring normal subsequent production.

First, cleaning and inspection: Inspect the die head, die core, die plate, and sealing gasket one by one to ensure there is no material residue, stains, or damage, and that the die head holes are unobstructed and free from deformation; check the integrity of bolts and clips, and tighten or remove any loose or rusted parts promptly. Second, drying: Place all cleaned parts in a clean, ventilated place to air dry naturally (or wipe them dry with a clean cloth) to avoid moisture residue, which could lead to bacterial growth and rusting of the die head during subsequent use. Third, reinstallation: Install the die core, die plate, and sealing gasket in sequence according to the markings made during disassembly. Then, align the die head with the discharge end of the floating fish feed extruder machine, gently fit it in place, and tighten the fixing bolts (tighten them diagonally to avoid uneven force). Fasten the clips to ensure the die head is firmly fixed and well-sealed. After installation, start the equipment and run it idle for 3-5 minutes to check if the die head discharges material smoothly and without any abnormal noises. Once confirmed to be correct, it can be put into production.
